Why take ISTD dance exams?
At our school, we proudly offer ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) exams – a globally respected examination board that supports every dancer’s journey, from beginner to advanced
levels.
Here’s why ISTD exams matter:
•Builds confidence – Students gain a real sense of achievement through structured progression and recognition.
•Sets goals – Exams provide clear milestones that motivate students to improve and stay committed.
•Celebrates success – Every exam passed is a celebration of hard work, talent, and growth.
•Globally recognised – ISTD qualifications are respected worldwide and can support future opportunities in dance and beyond.
•Inclusive for all – With the ARA (Access and Reasonable Adjustments) process, exams can be adapted to support every student’s needs.
•Pathways to a dance career – ISTD exams can open doors to further training, teaching qualifications, and careers in performance, choreography, and education.
We believe exams are more than just a test – they’re a celebration of progress, passion, and potential.
LAMDA is the oldest drama school in the UK and has an incredible reputation in the performance industry. They are also recognised worldwide and by all the top colleges and can again earn students UCAS credits.
The LAMDA group Musical Theatre exams are a great opportunity for the children to work together with their peers, to grow in confidence and gain experience in performing.
The solo examinations are a chance to progress through grades, gaining valuable experience, confidence and repertoire.
Both group and solo examinations are held throughout the year.
